Dimkes Sacco is looking for a vibrant ICT Officer, here is the advert

Key Responsibilities

 • Ensure optimal performance of all ICT infrastructure and communication equipment across all Dimkes DT Sacco branches

. • Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls. • Maintain the LAN and its associated components and both the wired and the wireless network inclusive of performance, security, throughput and upgrades.

 • Responsible for building, installation, and configuration of all legacy Windows servers. Apply patches, fixes, hardware and software upgrades to the physical servers and virtual machines. Plans upgrades and coordinates with users. 

• Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. 

• Responsible for setting up user accounts and mailboxes along with backup and security of mail server. Perform routine server maintenance, Install Security and Cumulative updates for the mail server, and act as the first point of contact for problems involving Microsoft Exchange.

 • Provide monitoring and maintenance of all security related events (anti-virus programs, security patches, system installs, operating system patches & upgrades). Responsible for remediation and documentation of all vulnerabilities reported by the security devices. 

• Conduct research and make recommendations on IT products, services, protocols, and standards. Provide reports with recommendations and plans for correcting any ICT challenges. 

• Enforce defined standards, procedures, policies, and best practices in management of ICT assets. Assist the ICT Manager in the formulation of such policies. 2

 • Ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, Domain Controller, and backup servers, and their OS and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.

 • Manage security solutions, i.e. firewalls, anti-virus solutions, CCTV and intrusion prevention systems, among others. Perform periodic reviews of ICT security controls. • Maintaining ISO copies of all licensed software of the Sacco online for ease of retrieval

. • Enforce compliance and regulation by ensuring all users and vendors meet their specific standards as per policies. 4• Monitor ICT Servers Infrastructure to ensure availability and reliability to support business operations. • Communicate security risk through documentation, conversation, and presentations with an objective of driving awareness and informed decision making for the ICT team. • Test server performance and provide performance statistics and reports. • Oversee troubleshoot, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary. • Maintenance and update the Sacco website. • Awareness training on new changes and developments on ICT trends and responding to issues raised by staff via tele communication. • IT Network administration and provide technical assistance and support to internal staff, Members, and partner agents or vendors. • Ensure that all work and changes to infrastructure components are performed in such a way as to minimize disruptions to existing ICT services. • Keep track of Dimkes Sacco’s infrastructure assets and ensure that the systems and data is kept secure at all times. • Ensure that technology is used, managed and supported in accordance with Dimkes Sacco’s standards, policies and procedures. • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this job role. • Any other duty that maybe assigned. 

Essential Skills and Key Attributes Essential Skills /Qualifications 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline from a recognized institution. 

2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in an ICT support operations role within a highly digitized organization managing critical systems. 

3. ITIL Service level management certification is an added advantage 4. Professional training – CCNA or HCNA. 

5. Relevant experience in Networks and Datacenters. 3 

6. Experience in Microsoft Navision ERP in a DT Sacco will be an added advantage. 

7. Database administration and Software architecture will be an added advantage. Attributes • Outstanding communication, innovative and interpersonal skills. • Track record of integrity, teamwork and creativity skills.
